An 18 carat yellow gold* dress ring set with a large oval opal gemstone.

The opal measures 16.5x12.5mm (est 6.32 carats)  the white background allows a vibrant display of rainbow colours from flashes of fireglow orange, electric purple, and luminescent green.  This amount of colour is highly prized among opal collectors.

The claw setting allows more light to penetrate the opal, trident shoulders to a yellow gold band.

* Stamped 18CT, probably UK manufacture 1960s, no hallmarks required legally, but this ring has been tested for its purity, and we confirm the carat as 18.
