A pair of 18 carat gold cuff links by famous London designer Roy King.

Square shaped with basket weave effect, they measure 17x17mm, and attached by a chain to the barrel link similarly patterned with the basket weave effect, these measure 20x5mm, weight each 5.1grams. 

Hallmarks for London 1959

Roy Cecil King was a highly skilled British jeweller and watchmaker. First apprenticed in London's Hatton Garden ,  King learned both gem-setting and goldsmithing ,  Roy King was creating bespoke and one-off pieces for some of the biggest names at the time to include Cartier, Rolex and Garrard. 

Following the War, King established his own workshop where he produced "everything from a tiara to a tiepin." During this time, he also signed an agreement with Bueche Girod, creating the exterior of their wonderful watches, set in precious metals and adorned with gemstones. The 1960s bought a litany of awards form the prestigious British Modern Jewellery Exhibition, and the winning pieces are still on show as part of the permanent collection at the Goldsmiths' Hall.
