An antique diamond ring

A beautiful late Victorian five stone diamond ring, dating to approximately 1890–1900, displaying the timeless elegance and fine craftsmanship of the Victorian era.The ring features five graduated old brilliant cut white diamonds, beautifully arranged across the finger in a traditional hand-carved gold setting.

The principal centre diamond measures 4.7mm in diameter, flanked by two diamonds measuring 3.4mm, with a further two diamonds measuring 3mm at either end.The total estimated diamond weight is 0.85 carats, with a pleasing white colour graded I–J and clarity SI.

The wonderfully detailed, hand-carved setting is characteristic of the late Victorian period, with its graceful contours and traditional craftsmanship.The diamond-set head measures 18mm across the finger, with a width of 5.4mm and a depth of 4mm. Total ring weight is 3.3 grams.

The ring tests as 18 carat gold, with the band stamped 18CT. There are no full UK hallmarks, which is not unusual for jewellery of this age.
