A fabulous emerald and diamond lizard brooch

A gorgeous brooch from the late Victorian period in the shape of a lizard.  This stunning example is set with eighteen various size emerald gemstones. Ranging from 2.4 to 4.4mm.  These are dark grass green in colour an run along the head and back of the piece. Good clarity to all stones.

There are approximately forty two old cut white diamonds, varying in size from 1.4 to 2mm, placed along the body and legs of the piece.

Each eye a cabouchon ruby, and a pearl is placed into the mouth. As with many Victorian pieces, the white metals were silver, the under body and fangs are gold.

75mm length, width 30mm (rear legs) weight 15.5grams.
