An 18 carat gold three stone diamond 'gypsy' style ring
SKU: P22442
An 18 carat gold ring, hallmarked Chester 1896. Three diamonds are all 'star set' and measure 3.5mm (0.15 carats) and two x 2.2mm (0.05 carats) . All old brilliant cut diamonds.
The style is known as 'gypsy' . The origin of their name can be traced back to the 19th century, when women would travel through the countryside, fearful that gypsies might try and steal their valuables. In response to how easily they imagined it would be to snatch a gem from a raised claw-set ring, the gypsy ring was invented, which secured the stones snugly in place within, rather than upon, the band.
Head 6mm width, weight 4grams. Size M, we can resize free of charge.
