A WW1 18 carat gold trench wrist watch

SKU: P19152

£850
A fine and rare 18 carat gold 'trench' watch from the WW1 period. Designed to be worn usually by officers so that the time could be seen from the 'half hunter' style of opening at the front of the case. This has a enamelled chapter ring with roman numerals . This does have a few marks on it. We could remove but felt that the slight marks are original. The front opens to reveal a cream dial in good condition with arabic numerals. Hands are moved by depressing the button on the side. The rear opens to reveal a number and an 18K symbol. Another part of the case, again 18 carat gold opens to reveal the Swiss jewelled movement. Case 34mm width, depth 10mm, weight 37grams. The watch is currently working. We have attached a new strap. New gift box will be supplied.
