A vintage solitaire diamond ring

A solitaire ring containing a single brilliant cut white diamond. Measuring 4.2mm (1/4 carat) colour H-i, clarity Si. Claw set in platinum. Diamond cut platinum shoulders. 

Shank stamped 18CT PLAT. Tests as 18 carat gold. Head diameter 5.2mm, depth 5mm, weight 2.9grams. Period estimated at 1940-1950 in absolutely superb condition with no obvious sign of wear.
