A genuine Suffragette amethyst, peridot and diamond ring

SKU: P21351

A genuine Suffragette movement dress ring (there are many copies on the market) This one is 18 carat gold, hallmarked in Birmingham in 1910. There are peridot stones at each end, 3mm, then an old brilliant cut white diamond 3mm (0.10 carats), and at the centre a 4mm amethyst.

The boat shaped head, is hand carved 17x5mm, depth 4mm, weight 3.5grams. The shank is good and overall condition is excellent for a ring over 100 years old. A classic original ring that is rare and difficult to source.

These specific colours were chosen for their intrinsic symbolism. Hope springs in the green of the brilliant cut peridot while purity emanates from a white old mine brilliant cut diamond. Royalty, dignity and freedom can be discovered in the soft violet of the amethyst
