A fine Victorian sardonyx signet ring

A fine late Victorian signet ring with a hallmark for Chester 1899. Assayed as 15 carat gold, this ring contains a rare sardonyx cushion shaped stone 11x9mm with the carnelian red at the reverse.

Head 12x10mm, weight 4.7grams. The shoulders have a ribbed design 8mm wide to a good heavy shank to the rear. Overall in excellent condition at 120 years of age. Rare and beautiful.
