A fine pair of Edwardian period ruby and diamond drop earrings
A pair of vintage drop earrings. The circular drop at the base is 12mm in diameter containing an old brilliant cut white diamond, just under half a carat, colour and clarity estimated at H-i, Si. Mille grain set in platinum.
This is surrounded by 1.3mm square rubies, channel set, mille grain again in platinum. (not marked but tests as same) This articulates from a small double leaf shape above set with small rose cut diamonds, above this a long triangular shape,. again set with diamonds, then a double loop set with diamonds, the post is headed with an 0.05 carat diamond. The under setting tests as 18 carat gold.
It is a post fitting with original floral shaped scroll. Length 43mm, weight 7.7grams total. Edwardian period.
