A fine late Victorian diamond brooch

A fine brooch from the Victorian era, (c 1890-1900) set with a lively old brilliant cut white diamond, half a carat, colour G-h, clarity Si, mille grain set. The rest of the piece is set with many rose cut diamonds, approximately eighty in total, 1.4 to 1.7mm each (total estimated diamond weight 1.6carats) All set in silver (typical for the period) 15 carat yellow gold under setting. The pin has a slide tube safety catch, size 35x15mm, depth 4.2mm, weight 5grams. Original box (PJ Ross & Sons, Winchester)
