A fine Edwardian sapphire and diamond ring
An early 20th century vintage ring containing three beautiful cornflower blue sapphires originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) around 1900-1910. The sapphires are fine and clear, the centre stone 7x6mm (estimated at 1.65 carats), each side 4.3x4mm sapphire, and each side of the centre stone two bright white old cut diamonds 0.10 carat each, colour H-i, clarity Is (estimated)
The head is boat shaped, hand carved, stones claw set, 19x8mm, depth 5mm, weight 5grams. The ring tests as 18 carat gold. No hallmark as not a legal requirement in that period.
