A fine single stone solitaire ring containing a old European brilliant cut white diamond. The stone measures 6.74x6.87x4.79mm, and is calculated at 1.40 carats.
Colour H-i, clarity Si1. Set into platinum claws, coronet setting to a depth of 7mm. The shank tests as 18 carat yellow gold. Weight 3.1grams. Period assessed as 1920-1930, no hallmark as not a legal requirement until 1973.
There is an independent written valuation for this ring as undertaken by Robins Brothers of Plymouth which shows a new replacement value of £13,850.00. This will be supplied with the ring. This is an exceptional ring at an exceptional price. Offered at half the insured value!
