A fine almandine garnet five stone ring
An early 20th century five stone dress ring containing oval almandine garnets, centre 7x5mm, two x 6.4mm, two x 5.5x4mm. These have a pleasing ruby purple colour so typical of the almandine occurrence of this gemstone and often found in volcanic rock .Carved head 18x8mm, depth 4mm, also set with eight 1mm diamonds.
Weight 4grams. The shank is unmarked, but tests as 18 carat gold. No hallmark as not legally required, period estimated at 1895-1910.
Size O, easily resized free of charge. Condition fine to excellent.
